NEWPORT NEWS - LCDR (ret. U.S. Navy) Paul "Honey" Keller joined his wife of 62 years, Mildred, in Heaven on Wednesday August 28, 2013. He was born and raised in Newport News, VA, but traveled the world for 32 years in service of his country. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. His "second" career was a trim carpenter, a career he enjoyed until he was 82 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mable Keller, and his sister, Shirley Walker. Survivors include his two daughters, Paula and Jeanne Keller; grandchildren, Melessia and Wilbur O'Berry III; and granddaughter-in-law, Savannah. Nothing brought him more joy than his great-grandchildren, Lorelai, Nicholas, Blake, and Addyson. He was devoted to his church, Deer Park Baptist, and served as a Sunday school teacher and various other areas. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 3 at 11 a.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home with Dr. Brian Autry officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens.
