YORKTOWN - Edward Earl Heath, 89, of Yorktown went to be with the Lord Friday, September 27th, 2013. Mr. Heath served in the Marine Corps during WWII. He was married to the love of his life, the late Frances O. Heath, in 1945. They were married for 65 wonderful years. He moved to the peninsula in 1947 to go into business with his father. Together they started Heath Roofing Company, that served the peninsula for 31 years. Mr. Heath was very active at Calvary Baptist Church in Newport News, then Mathews Baptist Church in Mathews County and then going to Faith Baptist Church in Hampton. He served as a Deacon and in many other positions of leadership in all three churches. Dad's real joy was in preparing and serving meals with his wife in all three churches. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances O. Heath, his son David F. Heath and two brothers Ivy Heath and Glen Heath. Left to cherish his memories, is his son Eddie Heath and Kathy of Yorktown, Suzanne Heath and Rick of Suffolk, Kathy Heath and Terry of Norfolk, 17 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren; his two cousins Leonard Heath and Cliff Heath; a host of nieces and nephews, and his good friends Charlie and Pat. The family would like to thank the staff at Colonial Harbor, the Helping Angels, and Hospice of Virginia for the wonderful care and love that they gave to our dad. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 1st, 2013, with the visitation being held one hour prior starting at 9:00 a.m. Committal will take place at Peninsula Memorial Park.
