HAMPTON - William "Bill" Sherwood Neff, 65, lost his relentless battle with multiple myeloma Tuesday Feb. 4, 2014. He was a native of Pittsburgh, PA, but has resided in Hampton for almost 30 years. Bill was a veteran of the US Army serving over 20 years as a musician. He had several loves in his life including music, flying, and fixing things, and worked as co-owner of the Ft. Eustis Auto Repair Shop. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Carol Neff, his daughters Diane Childress, Kelly Neff, and Kathryn Simmons, his stepchildren Duane Aho, Christina White, and Janella Thronson, his brother D. Robert Neff, and nine grandchildren. A viewing will be held Sunday Feb. 9 from 3-5pm at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S Armistead Ave. in Hampton. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday Feb. 10 at 11am at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 250 Fox Hill Rd., Hampton, with a reception to follow.
