Kim and Randi,
I first met Bill in mile 8 of the Battlefield 10 miler in 2005. I caught him and asked what age group he was in and when he said 50 - 54 the race was on. No surprise, he won. Before a 5K once he told me to go out with reckless abandon, we're old and nobody cares if we have to jog the last mile. Best racing advice I ever got. Bill became a friend, one with great humor whom I both admired and appreciated. I will miss him very much.

Kim and Randi, I 'm very sorry to hear about Bill's untimely passing. I missed his obituary in Thursday's paper and would have loved to attend the gathering at Panera. Bill was always such a good neighbor, always willing to loan a tool or offer a helping hand. I'll miss him much. May God bless and keep you and Randi.

Bill and I worked together many years at NNDSS. He was an empathic and kind worker who was a great advocate for those in his care. His sense of humor made a hard job a little easier. He leaves a legacy of which the family can be proud; service to country, community and others, devoted family man while enjoying life to the fullest. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Kim & Randi,

I just wanted to let you both know that I have been thinking and praying for you both in these past few days. I am so glad Bill is on the other side riding the best bikes, running and swimming in the best places. I am so sorry that we had to meet like we did but I am inspired by you and Randi's strength and courage in your situation. You both are so brave and courageous and I will never forget you!

P.S.- I hope you get to make lots of beautiful quilts for you and Randi's home :)

I ran with Bill at Ferguson High School. We set quite a few records on relay teams. One of those records ...the distance medley title at the William and Mary relays stood for 22 years and at the time was 5th fastest in the nation. We also darn near won the state cross country title when Bill was a senior (John Vandyke, jimmy Snow and I were sophomores at the time). We finished 2nd that year...by just 10 points to Warwick High School! Bill was immensely influential to me ....he was the toughest runner I ever knew and a great team captain! I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I had the priveledge of running with him in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track for 3 years (I was the half miler along with John VanDyke on the team. God less you all in your time of need!
Respectfully yours, Jack Thompson (Ferguson class of 1971)
