Michael Suttle Jr.

NEWPORT NEWS - Michael Suttle, Jr. was born on April 17th, 1925 and passed away on May 20th, 2015 after a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Newport News and he attended Walter Reed Elementary, Augusta Military Academy, Duke University and the General Motors Institute. Michael was also a WWII veteran who proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was also a lifetime member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Michael was the president of Suttle Motor Corporation in Newport News for over 50 years. During his time in the car business, he developed many meaningful friendships and built a large, loyal customer base. His office door was always open. He will be remembered for his smile, humor and upbeat approach. His parents, Michael and Bahia; two sisters, Becky and Marie; and seven brothers, George, Albert, Oscar, Freddie, Joe, Arthur, and Billy preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Jessie, a daughter, Nannette Holmes and her husband, Eric; sons, Michael Suttle, III and his wife, Patty, Gary Suttle and his wife, Lita, and Steven Suttle and his wife, Shannan; a brother, Raymond Suttle; seven granddaughters, Sallie, Jessie, Andie, Taylor, Savannah, Lita and Sydney; and three grandsons, Brooks, Miles and Chase. A graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News on Wednesday, May 27th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Virginia Auto Dealers Educational Fund, P.O.
