Beulah J. Lawson

Beulah J. Lawson of Ruckersville, our dear and precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the age of 94.

She was born on April 10, 1916, in Rockingham County, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Cassie Atkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Lurtie Lawson; two sons, Leon Lawson and Ronald Lawson; and two daughters, Shirley Williams and Lois Rogers.

She was a homemaker and loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She shared so much love for her family and taught us all to love the Lord.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Darryl Lawson and his wife, Lottie, of Ruckersville; a daughter, Sylvia Teel of Ruckersville; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, As a grandmother, she shared a bond that will always hold a special place in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Johnny Roach officiating. Burial will follow at the Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the funeral home in Elkton.
