Alonzo Lennie Hughes

Alonzo Lennie Hughes, 57, of Louisa, Virginia, died on Monday, December 6, 2010, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He was born Tuesday, November 10, 1953, in Louisa, Virginia, the son of Mary L. Poindexter Hughes and the late Johnie L. Hughes Sr. He was the husband of the late Cynthia Hughes and Remona A. Hughes.

He was a graduate of Louisa County Public Schools and was employed by Real Estate III at Zion Crossroads, Virginia.

Surviving are his son, Justin Alexander Hughes; daughter, Alonna Kelly Hughes; brothers, Johnie L Hughes Jr. and Mark M Hughes and his wife, Priscilla; two sisters, Suzette Kim Brown and Sheila M Brown; two grandchildren, Sanaia Quarles and Mariah Gaines; two aunts, Elizabeth Lee and Susie Quarles; and one brother-in-law, James Anderson.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010, at First Baptist Baptist Church, 102 Meadow Avenue, Louisa, Virginia, with Bishop John Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the Poindexter Family Cemetery.

To the family, I am truly sorry for your loss.

Lennie and I had our moments, but there was no one who I respected more as a programmer, or as a man than Lennie. I wish we could have spent moe time together in our later years.

To Lennie's family:
