AyoOla Ote

AyoOla Blakey Ote (Sylvia V.), 57, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, after a brief illness.

She was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on May 27, 1953. AyoOla was a self made entrepreneur, maintaining several businesses as a Certified Natural Health Professional (CNHP), and a Custom Fashion and Accessories Artisan/Designer. As a CNHP she tested and demonstrated natural health products throughout Florida and the Southeast.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Abasi Ote and son, Bomani Blakey, of St. Petersburg; daughter MarQuetta Blakey of Richmond, Virginia; sister, Phyllis Cutchins and her husband, Sidney, of Charlottesville, Virginia; sister, Theresa Rawlings and her husband, Calvin, of Charlottesville, Virginia; brother, Wesley Ransom and his wife, Linda, of Bowie, Maryland; three grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

AyoOla had a great love for design sewing, nutrition, reading, and the Gulf waters. AyoOla will be greatly missed by us all, but we know her spirit will live on in the many works of design sewing and jewelry art she provided to others.

A Sunrise Reflection Service was held 6 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Lansing Park Southeast, St. Petersburg, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society in her memory.

May God Bless you and your family in your time of sorry. Sylvia(AyoOla)will be missed, that was my classmate. She was always a joy to be around, very out going and always had a smile on her face. May God continue to wrap his tender loving arms around you all and give you that peace that surpasses all. Just know that she is in the Heavenly Fathers arms and at rest.
God Bless You All.

My daughter, Yataye, introduce me to this Lady several years ago. Although I met and was in her Divine Presence only once; she left an everlasting presence and impression upon me.... I often would ask my daughter about her when we spoke. She represented a Divine desire of my counterpart. It is comforting to know that she had/has a Loving husband.... You are all blessed to have had claim to her.... Though she has left her body; please know that her Soul is yet alive. She may very well be a child you will meet in your life-time. So please be Loving and continue to love her.... My name is Alexander Ravenel, II.
