Charles Langston Tatum

Charles Langston Tatum, 75, of Gordonsville, died on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

He was born on February 8, 1935, in Bladensboro County, North Carolina, a son of the late Norman Langston Tatum and Addie Lee Singletary.

He was retired from Virginia Dominion Power. Mr. Tatum always put his family first, but he also helped friends and even strangers whenever possible. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Elfriede Spross Tatum of Gordonsville; one daughter, Tammy Hildegard Tatum; one brother, Norman Leroy Tatum; two sisters, Sylvia Rose Tatum and Bobbie Dale Tatum; one granddaughter, Crystal Amber Taylor and her husband, Kevin; three great-grandchildren, Austin Caleb Taylor, Logan Remington Taylor and Jacob Elliott Taylor.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Preddy Funeral Home in Orange, 250 West Main Street, Orange, VA 22960.

Elfie, Tammy and Crys, I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Charles. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I love you all very much.
