Charles Russell "Hammer" North

Charles Russell "Hammer" North, 50, died at his residence on Sunday, April 18, 2010.

He was born on April 20, 1959, in Roncederte, West Virginia, the son of Russell T. North Jr. of Orange and the late Evelyn F. North of Leslie, West Virginia.

Besides his father, he is survived by his wife, Peggy A. North and stepson, Kenneth May, both of Charlottesville; a daughter, Cayla McMillion of Leslie, West Virginia; three brothers, Richard North and his wife, Tammy, of Yelm Washington, Steven North and his wife, Georgie, and James North, all of Ruckersville; three sisters, Donna Charles and her husband, Russell, of Rhoadesville, and Denna and Regina North, both of Leslie, West Virginia; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Charles "Hammer" served in the United States Navy as a Seaman Specialist. He also was a member of the Culpeper Minutemen Organization and a dedicated employee of American Woodmark Corporation.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Culpeper National Cemetery. The Reverend James Touchton will officiate.

BEING THAT I JUST FOUND OUT A FEW DAYS AGO&DEALING WITH THE PAIN AND LOSS OF A WONDERFUL PERSON,BUT AS EVERYONE THAT KNEW CHARLIE KNEW HE WAS A WONDERFUL FRIEND THAT MADE UR BAD DAY INTO A BETTER ONE,A SAD TIME INTO A HAPPIER ONE,WHEN YOU FELT BAD HE ALWAYS FOUND AWAY TO MAKE THINGS OK AND MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER,HE WAS LOVING,KIND,FUNNY,PROTECTIVE,CAREING,HARD WORKING JUST AN ALL AROUND GREAT GUY THAT YOU JUST WANTED TO BE AROUND...CHARLIE WAS MY BUDDY,HE WAS LIKE MY BROTHER,MY UNCLE,MY DAD ALL ROLLED INTO ONE AND WE WASNT EVEN BLOOD BUT WE WERE FAMILY,AND NOW HE'S WITH GRANDPA CATCHING UP ON LOST TIME WAITING ON THE REST OF US....CHARLIE WILL BE LOVED AND MISSED AND THOUGHT OF OFTEN......???
