Ellyn Ashley Obituary
Elllyn Christine Ramsey Ashley, 53, of Shipman, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Charlottesville, October 13, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Branard Tyson "B.T." Ramsey and Virginia Christine Crouch Ramsey.
Ellyn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Ashley; two daughters, Serena Christine Ashley and Samantha Lynn Ashley; one granddaughter, Rebeckah Lynn Jackson, five brothers, Blaine Ramsey and Annie, Roger Ramsey and Hollie, Ray Ramsey and Mary, Marshall Ramsey and Stephanie, and Eddie Ramsey; four sisters, Margaret Altman and Tony, Brenda Mayo and John, Lena Lawhorne and Cecil, and Linda Grubb and Kenny; three step-brothers, Rudolph Ramsey and Betty, Wayne Ramsey and Dee, and Kenneth Ramsey; a very special mother-in-law, Nancy Ashley, and numerous other family members.
A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Reverend John P. Campbell officiating.
Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery, Shipman.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 8408 Thomas Nelson Highway Lovingston, VA 22949 or the Nelson County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 44, Faber, VA 22938.
