George Montgomery "Willie" Simms

George Montgomery "Willie" Simms, 57, died on Friday, May 7, 2010, at Lovingston Health Care Center, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on June 2, 1952, in Charlottesville, a son of the late Virginia Lee Ross.

He was a longtime employee of The University of Virginia.

He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Mary Ross and her fiance, Reginald Givens, Wendy Ross, and her fiance, Timothy Brown, and Wanda Harvey and her husband, Wayne; two brothers, Dale Ross and his wife, Patricia, and Alvin Ross; an aunt, Flora Dickerson; three step-sisters, Tammy Jackson, Cynthia Woods, and Doris Chatman; as well as a host of nieces, and nephews whom loved him very much.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2010, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Keene, Virginia, with the Reverend Otis McDonald officiating.
