Gerald Fauth Obituary

Gerald W. Fauth Jr. Gerald William Fauth Jr. of Key West, Florida, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010, in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was a summer resident of Epworth Heights, Michigan.

He was born on June 11, 1928, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Gerald W. Fauth Sr. and Elsa Johnson Fauth. He was also preceded in death by a son, Geoffrey Karr Fauth.

He attended Howe Military School, graduated from Culver Military Academy and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor with a B.S. and Masters in Civil Engineering.

He served as a Lieutenant junior grade in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

After the war, he was a partner with his father in Gerry Fauth Insurance in Flint, Michigan.

In the late 1950's, Mr. Fauth moved to Washington, D.C., to become a partner in Williams and Fauth, a transportation consulting firm. Later, he formed his own firm, G.W. Fauth and Associates, transportation economic consultants.

Mr. Fauth is survived by his wife of forty years, Carole Barber Fauth; his children, Kylie Fauth and Thomas Mock, Gerald W. Fauth III and Mary Toms, and Brooke Fauth Burr and Richard); his stepchildren, Taylor Thompson Taylor and Aaron, and F. Carson Thompson III and Martha Carrington; twelve grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was a member of the Union League Club of Chicago, the Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C., Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Key West Yacht Club, the Epworth Assembly, and the English Speaking Union.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Epworth Memorial Foundation 1161 North Lakeshore Drive Ludington, MI 49431.

It is with great sadness that I read of Gerry's passing. To say the least, he had a huge impact on me, as well as on Janet. We look back on our association with Gerry with fond memories. We always considered him a neighbor and friend first and a business associate second. Please accept our sincere condolences.
