Irene Mickens Obituary
Irene Wade Mickens, 74, of Louisa, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 29, 2009.
Irene was born August 16, 1935, to Timothy and Martha Wade. Irene was preceded in death by two daughters, Pat Jones and Maria Lanuzo.
Irene leaves to cherish her memories a brother, Johnnie Wade; a daughter, Johnetta Bell and her fianc‚e, Lonell Hardy; three sons, John Mickens, Johnathan Mickens and his fianc‚e, Trudy Watkins, and Anthony Lanuzo and his wife, Tanya Lanuzo; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Bright Hope Baptist Church, 9833 Poindexter Road, Louisa, VA 23093. A repast will commence immediately following the service.
Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2010, at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel, 117 West Street, Louisa, VA 23093.
The body will lie in state from 12: 30 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bright Hope Baptist Church.
Flowers can be sent to Thomasson Watson Funeral Home or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bright Hope Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1178, Louisa, VA 23093, "In Memory of Irene Mickens".
Thomasson Watson Funeral Service, Inc. is handling the arrangements.
