Iva Morris Obituary
Iva Davis Morris passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at her home in Earlysville, where she resided with her beloved husband of 55 years.
She was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, and graduated from Lynchburg College with a B.S. in Education. Iva also held a masters degree in Education from the University of Virginia. She was a retired school teacher, active member of Olivet Presbyterian Church and member of the Earlysville Volunteer Fire Company.
Iva was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother who lived out her faith in many ways. She valued her service to God through her work with children by teaching, tutoring and crafting. Her home was always filled with love and laughter and everyone was welcome. Her hospitality was quickly known to all.
She is survived by her husband, James B. "J.B." Morris of Earlysville, Virginia; Beth Morris, PhD of Earlysville, Virginia, Mary Carol and Michael Jones of Midlothian, Virginia, James B. "Jim" and Mary Morris of Jarrettsville, Maryland, and Anne and Chris Hucek of Barboursville, Virginia. She leaves behind eight precious granddaughters, Brittany and Hailee Jones, Sarah, Hannah, Abigail and Rebecca Morris and Raleigh and Mara Hucek, all of whom adored their B-ma completely.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Susan C. Modesitt M.D., University of Virginia Medical Center, Gynecologic Oncology Division Director, as well as her staff and Hospice of the Piedmont for their gentle and thoughtful care throughout.
A memorial service and reception of family and friends will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at Olivet Presbyterian Church, 2575 Garth Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund or to The Hospice of the Piedmont.

You are in our prayers. We know this is a difficult time for you--lots of different thoughts and emotions. Treasure the memories of time spent here on earth with your mom, your B-ma. Claim the promise of Isaiah 40:30-31 the Psalmist gives us a wonderful picture of the strenght God offers us when are weary.
