James "Jim" Edward Butler

James "Jim" Edward Butler 64, of Pratts, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, surrounded by his family and his loving wife at his residence.

He was born January 9, 1945, in Madison, the son of the late Harold Leon Butler and Catherine Smith Butler. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clifton "Bootsie" Butler and Allen Butler.

Mr. Butler was retired from E. A. Clore and Sons in Madison and was associated with Countryside Assisted Living in Pratts for many years. Jim loved the outdoors and the Blue Ridge Mountains

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie L. Butler of Pratts; a daughter, Tara Butler Rudolph and her husband, Wallace, of Unionville; two sons, Jason Conrad Butler and his wife, Nicole, of Pratts, Jay E. Butler and his wife, Cheryl, of Aroda; mother of his children and special friend, Shirley Workman; appreciated the devotion of his friend, Lee Wilbur; a brother, Bruce Butler of Charlottesville; a sister, Ruby Utz of Brightwood; sisters-in-law, Shirley Butler of Stanardsville and Pauline Butler of Madison; four grandchildren, Jana Piszker, Cole Butler, Willow Rudolph, and Waylon Rudolph; and a great-grandson, David William Piszker III.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009, at the Preddy Funeral Home chapel in Madison with interment at Etlan Cemetery. Pastor Ray Berry and Pastor Josh Shifflett will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
