James Vaughan Obituary
James Harold "Jim" Vaughan, 82, died at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab of Charlottesville on Sunday, November 8, 2009.
He was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on April 27, 1927, the son of Harold D. and Nina Ruth Spivey Vaughan, both deceased.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Izola Scarberry Vaughan; and a grandson, James Cleveland Price.
Mr. Vaughan was a retired lawyer, having had numerous other occupations in earlier years.
His survivors include four daughters, Sherron V. Pace and Patricia V. Hudson, both of Fluvanna, Peggy V. Roberts and Donna V. Marshall, both of Albemarle County; two sons; H. David Vaughan and J. Donald Vaughan, both of Fluvanna; one sister, Milly Ann V. Kelley, of Charlottesville; 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Masonic burial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Seays' Chapel United Methodist Church, Upper Shores Road, Route 640, in Fluvanna County, with R.W. Harlan Phelps presiding. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
At Mr. Vaughan's request, there will be no public viewing of the body. Also at his request, in lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to any Masonic charity or other charity of your choice.
Sheridan Funeral Home of Kents Store, Virginia, is handling the arrangements.
