John Edward Brown

John Edward Brown, 96, of Kents Store, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Louisa Health Care Center, Louisa.

Born Monday, September 14, 1914, in Cecil County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Frank Lewis Brown and the late Rhonda Earl Brown. He was the husband of the late Mary Timberlake Brown.

He was a graduate of Cecil County High School and worked as a service station attendant before retiring as a University of Virginia Police Officer.

John joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he and his wife, Mary, were members for many years. John later became a member of County Line Baptist Church where he attended faithfully until his health began to fail. John also served as a member of the Maryland National Guard.

He was predeceased by his brother, Mr. William Brown of Charlottesville.

Loving memories of him will be cherished by his sister-in-law, Fannie L. Timberlake of Kents Store; and a devoted nephew, George W. Price and his wife, Cornelia, of Richmond. John is also survived by three additional nephews, nine nieces and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Thomasson Watson Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Walter H. Jones Sr. officiating.

Interment will be at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery, Kents Store.

Thomasson Watson Funeral Service Inc., Louisa, is handling the arrangement.
