I became an adult in their house in Berkeley, in 1992, reading Hermann Hesse and playing theater at nights with Pepe, Sally and friends.

Dear Sally, Luisa, Fiona and Kate,
We remember Pepe as the best of our friends.

There was a brilliance and electricity about Pepe from our first meeting in 1967 in Akron, Ohio that carried on through the years and the many places we visited him and his family. We are so grieved to lose him, but also so thankful to have had the joy of knowing him and his family. Our deepest condolences are are with all of his family.
