Joseph Edmonds Woodson

Joseph Edmonds Woodson, 60, of Atlanta, Georgia, previously of Bremo Bluff, entered into eternal rest Friday, December 31, 2010.

He was born March 29, 1950, to the late Jake and Virginia Woodson of Bremo Bluff.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

He leaves to cherish loving memories; his devoted wife of 40 years, Martha Woodson; seven sisters, Nannie Salisbury of Charlottesville, Frances Littleford of Washington, D.C., Sally Bullock of Richmond, Mary Jones and Frank, of Fork Union, Louise Carroll of Baltimore, Maryland, Florence Washington and Walter, of Richmond, and Julia Woodson of Baltimore, Maryland; four brothers, Jake Woodson III and Sheryl, of Baltimore, Maryland, Robert Woodson of Richmond, Frank Woodson of Kents Store, and Lindsay Woodson and Gladys, of Baltimore, Maryland; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Homegoing services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the West Bottom Baptist Church, Bremo Bluff, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to service. The Reverend Wayne Claxton presiding.

Interment will be held at Oakhill Family Cemetery.

Sheridan Funeral Home, Kents Store, is in charge of arrangements.
