Joseph Juel Obituary
He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on August 14, 1938, the son of Minnie Allen and Vern Francis Juel.
He earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Kansas City in 1961 and served in the United States Naval Air Reserve from 1961 until 1969. He retired from AT&T management in 1994 after 33 years of service.
Since 1998, he has been a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. During his life, he was active and served in leadership roles in community and charitable organizations.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Martha Knox Juel of Pittsboro, North Caolina; a son, Vern Charles Juel and his wife, Laura, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; a daughter, Melinda Juel Adams and her husband, Christopher, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; grandchildren, Matthew, Emily and Katherine Juel, and Patrick Adams; and a sister, Helen Juel Bennett and her husband, Edward, of Independence, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with a reception to follow at the church library.
Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 190 Rugby Road, Charlottesville VA 22903 or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Blue Ridge Chapter.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Joe was one of the nicest gentlemen that we have ever been lucky enough to know. He will be dearly missed by so many; however, he is now in a better place. Our very sincere condolences.
