Katherine Elizabeth Stewart

Katherine Elizabeth Stewart passed away on October 13, 2010, in Atlanta, Georgia.

She was born on September 2, 1955, in Ontario, Canada, Ms. Stewart resided in Charlottesville, Virginia, graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in New York and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1984. Katherine was an outstanding actor and vocalist, having done both amateur and professional performing, and she was passionate about cooking. She loved theatre and the arts, classical music and attending the symphony, reading, and she had a wonderful sense of humor. Her love and unselfish care for those close to her was very special. Appreciation is expressed to the friends who loved, supported and cared for her as well as the close-knit community which surrounded her.

Daughter of Dr. Lever F. Stewart and Irma Lindsay Stewart, Katherine is survived by her loving brother, Lever F. Stewart, III and his wife, Jan Daniel Stewart, and their children, Lindsay, Lever, and Elizabeth Reed Stewart of Atlanta, Georgia; stepmother, Gwynneth Silbey Stewart of Gladwyne, Pennsylvania; and an uncle, Eugene Trafton; and cousins, Rod and Marlin Trafton of Somerville, Massachusetts.

A memorial service in celebration of her life is planned for Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, 805 Mount Vernon Highway, Atlanta, Georgia 30327. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch being served following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church in her memory.
