Dan - I just heard about Kammie's passing. I remember our get togethers when we were all so young (you, Kammie, Rick and I) in State College. Always admired Kammie for the very giving person she was, her beautiful smile and the love you had for each other. Haven't seen you in years but I am very sadden hearing that she has pased.

I was a patient, struggling with all the decisions that need to be made after a person receives a cancer diagnosis. I pulled my car off the road, and called Kammie's number by mistake. We had a long, heartfelt conversation, and she gave me the courage to face the issues and to be proactive in my care. Later, when I was finishing my radiation treatments, I called her and tried to arrange to meet her, to thank her for being so helpful, supportive and generous when I, a total stranger, needed it so much. Sadly, that never happened, and I can only imagine how much she will be missed by all who knew her. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

My prayers go out to you I just learned of Kammie's passing. I am so grateful that I was afford the opportunity to work with her at Sprint and have dinner on occassion when she worked at UVA. I remember at Sprint my husband did mission or in Haiti and Kammie would also come to my desk and we would share our blessing with each other and she would always help out with the Haiti Mission for Children. I am so sorry to hear about Kammie. She was in my first class at PVCC where I taught medical coding. I remember being nervous as it was my first teaching experience and Kammie always seemed to know what to say at the right time. She had an infectious laugh and vibrant smile. We had so much fun that year and quite honestly, I think she and the class taught me more than I taught them. I feel so very fortunate to have known Kammie and I will carry with me all those special memories from class and from PAC. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I worked with Kammie in Radiation Oncology at UVA and I can't tell you how glad I am that I had the pleasure of getting to know her. So many work days flew by for me because of her great sense of humor and awesome smile. When she left Moser she trained me to take over for a short time before they hired someone else. Kammie really went above and beyond her job description for the patients there and she did her best to train me to do the same. She was one of a kind and the world seems a little smaller to me now that she is gone. I named my daughter Cameron, and we call her Cami. When she was born I emailed Kammie to let her know that she now had a namesake. :) I hope that my daughter grows into a woman with the the same loving spirit that Kammie had. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
