Kenneth Sparks Obituary
Kenneth Roger Sparks, 68, of Stanardsville, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at a local nursing home after a five year battle with cancer.
He was born on March 20, 1942, in Clovis, New Mexico, son of the late Clyde Sparks and Tressie Donaldson Sparks .
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy Sparks and Earl Sparks.
Roger retired from sales and repairs and served his country in the United States Army for many years.
Roger was survived by his wife of 32 years, Terry Sparks; his two daughters, Tracy Picklo and her husband, Joe, of Stanardsville, Kim Garcia and her husband, Greg, of Clovis, New Mexico; one son, Kevin Sparks of Oak Harbor, Washington; two grandchildren, Sarah Garcia and Brittni Ojeda, both of Clovis, New Mexico; two brothers, Billy F. Sparks and his wife, Frances, of Raleigh, North Carolina and Steve L. Sparks of Tucson, Arizona; one sister, Neva Riggins and her husband, Lawrence of Clovis, New Mexico; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Ryan Funeral Home with the Reverend Wendell Lamb officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Ryan Funeral Home.
Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Neva & Lynn, I was so sorry to hear about Roger. It seems like just yesterday that we were all sitting around your parents table in the early 60s, laughing and talking. I still remember the terrible plane crash he was in, and how frightened we all were. I'm glad he had a good life, but I am so sorry he had to suffer. My prayers are with you!
