Leslie Vincent "Vince" Barnette

Leslie Vincent "Vince" Barnette passed away at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Friday, October 8, 2010, after a long illness.

He leaves behind his mother, Diane Balister; a son, Austin Gilbert Passiment; his brother, Lance Allen Barnette; his sister, Miranda Ruth Yost, and a large, loving, extended family.

He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends to whom he was strong, generous, and true.

He left us too soon, but his star burned brightly. He fed the hungry, cared for the sick, and encouraged the hopeless. He used his legal training to defend the defenseless and fought for less fortunate people, like himself, who are often invisible to society and for whom the norm is often difficult and every day is a struggle.

He is at peace now enfolded in the arms of God. His spirit remains in the heart of those he loved and who loved him.

A memorial service will be held at Saint Luke Lutheran Church, 6457 Leaksville Road, Stanley, Virginia, 11 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010. For information/ directions, please call 703-965-4632.
