Muriel S. Foley

Muriel S. Foley died on Friday, September 10, 2010, at a local hospital.

She was born in Swords, Georgia, on April 4, 1914.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Mark and Dr. Patricia Foley and her grandchildren, Leah and Daniel Foley.

She and her husband moved to Charlottesville in 1993 where they embraced their new life with a community of friends and family.

There is a planned celebration of her life 2 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Teague Funeral Service, 2260 Ivy Road, Charlottesville.

In lieu of flowers the family asks to please consider the following local charities Habitat for Humanity, specifically Women Build, Meals on Wheels or our local SPCA.

Dear Foley family. I met Muriel in 1987 in Asheville, NC. We became friends instantly. We spent a lot of time together talking about antiques,etc...
I am glad that I had a chance to see her in Charlottesville.
What a special human being. Muriel will be in heart as long as I live.

To the Foley family, I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy in the passing of your mother. I thank God for the opportunity to have known her my brief stay in Charlottesville, Va. Muriel was indeed a giant in all aspects of life. Thanks for sharing your mother with me. The world is a better place since Muriel stopped by. I thank God for her, and I loved her very much.
