Nora Marks Obituary
Nora L. Marks, 92, of New Bern, North Carolina, formerly of Gordonsville, died Thursday, December 31, 2009, in New Bern, North Carolina.
She was born on May 6, 1917, in Schyler, the daughter of the late Leslie C. Banton and Annie E. Tillman Fielder. She was the wife of the late Norman Willard Marks.
Mrs. Marks is survived by three daughters, Jean Beard and her husband, Donald, of Alexandria, Carolyn Self and her husband, Winston, of Vanceboro, North Carolina, and Lois Jones and her husband, Bill, of Alexandria; one sister, Carrie Reamy of Centerville; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and her first great-great-grandchild is expected any day.
She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Charles H. Fielder; one daughter, Joyce Marie Vroom; one son, Willard Lee Marks; one granddaughter, Kristina Lynn Beard; five sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville with interment to follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Pastor Roy Giles will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2010, at the funeral home.

I was a previous caregiver to Ms. Lynch at CH&R. She was always a happy person and seemed to uplift everyone around her. She will be greatly missed.
