Patricia Fahey Schuster

Patricia Schuster, 85, of Earlysville, Virginia, died on Monday, November 15, 2010, following a very brief illness. She was one of four daughters of the late William and Josephine Fahey of East Chicago, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank W. Schuster; and two of her sisters, Margaret Schmidt of Hammond and Sara Ehrsam of St. John, Indiana.

Pat took great pleasure in raising her three children, Mark Schuster of Manhattan Beach, California, Steven Schuster of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Karen Merritt of Earlysville; and in her four grandchildren, Derrick Schuster and Erika Schuster, and Brian Ayers and David Ayers; and in their many accomplishments. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Marie Butler, Mary Anne Howard, and John Merritt; her sister, Rosemary Van Fleet of Hammond, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia was proud of her Irish heritage and was blessed to have been able to travel there several times. She was fond of flower arranging and walking the family dogs.

A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Charlottesville, Virginia, 11 a.m. Saturday November 20, 2010.

The family will receive friends following the service. There will also be a celebration of her life in the Chicago area later this year.

Karen,
I am so sorry for your loss. If your Mom was anything like you then she was one special lady. I wish I could be there for you on Saturday but I don't think I can be there. I will be praying for you and your family.

Dear Mark,Steven,and Karen

Your mom,my aunt Pat, will live always in the memories of my babies and grand babies, with stories of the Fahey girls and of course Grandma Fahey. Your mom was of irish decent so much that my Sean, with the help of your mother, who sent me the family crest O'Fahey, spent months having the family crest tatto on his upper arm, and wears it with great pride. And of course Pat made one hell of a chocolate chip cookie.
