Robert "R.W." Walker Huffman

Robert "R.W." Walker Huffman, 78, of Rockfish Valley Highway, Afton, died Sunday morning, May 30, 2010, at his residence.

Born June 11, 1931, at Davis Creek in Nelson County, he was a son of the late Samuel Houston Huffman and Ethel Harris Huffman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Shirley H. Hewitt, Ora H. Hewitt, Juanita H. Cox, Betty H. Green, and Joyce J. Huffman; and a brother, Harry Douglas Huffman.

R.W. was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, Lovingston, and was a United States Army Veteran.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Good and her husband, Floyd, of Grottoes; a brother, Houston B. Huffman, and his wife, Ann, of Waynesboro; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Oak Hill Baptist Church, Lovingston, with Reverend Carroll Welch officiating.

Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at the funeral home.
