Roger Smith Obituary

Roger B. Smith, 76, of Waynesboro, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009, at his home.

He was born March 7, 1933, in Yonkers, New York, a son of the late Morgan Smith and Margaret Smith.

Mr. Smith attended Horace Mann School in New York, New York. He was President of Smith Time Inc., where he retired in 2003 after 50 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Military Police from 1951 until 1953.

He is a member of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church. In New York, he was active in Republican Party politics and was former President of Waynesboro Country Club. Among his interests were golf, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Norma L. Smith; his son, Jeffrey Smith and his wife, Diane Smith, of Ashburn; his daughter, Pamela Myers of Nortonsville; his four grandchildren, Shawn Smith, Lauren Smith, Alexander Myers and Laine Myers; and his brother, Morgan Smith of Naples, Florida.

A memorial service will be held at Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church, 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009, with the Reverend Jason Whitner officiating.
