Roger Johnson Obituary

Roger Wayne Johnson Sr., 54, of Scottsville, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at his residence.

He was born on February 14, 1955, in Charlottesville, the son of the late William Hobert McKinley Johnson Jr. and Lorena Elizabeth Tate Johnson.

Roger had served in the United States Marine Corps and was an accomplished business owner and operated a custom home building and renovation company, R.W. Johnson and Son Inc. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved participating in the sport of drag racing whenever possible. Above all, Roger loved spending time with his family.

Surviving him are his wife, Debra Faye Johnson of Scottsville; a daughter, Lori Butner and her husband, Freddie, of Fork Union; a son, Roger Wayne Johnson Jr. and his wife, Joy, of Charlottesville; two granddaughters, Ave Grace Johnson and Elizabeth Butner; three grandsons, Justin Johnson, Jacob Johnson, and Frederick Butner; two sisters, Sylvia Johnson of Louisa and Sandra Napier and her husband, George, of Louisa; and two brothers, Kenney Johnson and his wife, Donna, of Gordonsville and Daniel Johnson and his wife, Sharon, of Ruckersville.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home with Dr. Joel Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.

TODAY'S THE 4 TH. OF DECEMBER AND IN 4 MORE DAYS YOU WILL HAVE BEEN GONE FROM MY LIFE AND MY ARMS FOR A WHOLE YEAR, ALL DAY THE ONLY THING I COULD THINK OF IS THIS TIME LAST YEAR I HAD YOU WITH ME, ROG MY HEART IS AS BROKE NOW AS IT WAS THE MINUTE I WAS TOLD YOU WERE GONE. Rog, i miss you so much my heart has been crushed beyond repare,but i look our beautiful lovely children roger & lori the beautiful grand children they gave us,
{justin, elizabeth, jacob, frederick,ava grace} and i see you in each and every one of them and that gives me comfort.
I miss our talks we had every single day and the times we spent together, i know you worried about me to the end , i know you wanted to stay here with me and not go babe but god had a plan for you .
I always said you were put here for a reason and now i know it was because whenever you came in contact with people you made a difference in their lives. i've always felt that we have been together many life times and many many incarnations together so until i pass over to be with you and i know you'll be there waiting at that glorious light for me to cross over i'll be here with strength through you and watch our little family grow.
I miss you so much i wish you were here with me right now but god neede you to come back home, so enjoy your spirit life in heaven with your mama , daddy, popo, granny and mike .i'll take good care of your little dog justus , ok and you know i'll always watch out for your children and grand babies.
