Ruth B. Branch

Ruth B. Branch, 87, of Buckingham, passed away at her home on Thursday, December 2, 2010.

She was born on March 19, 1923, in Buckingham County, the daughter of the late Percy Watkins Branch and Marnie Hackett Branch. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Kelly W. Branch.

Ruth was a friend to many and loved to do for others. She treasured her family and her church. She enjoyed gardening and working in the yard with her flowers and cooking those special Sunday dinners for her family. She was a loving, wonderful, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family whom she adored. She will be missed by many but remain in our hearts forever.

She leaves behind four children, Jane B. Beasley and her husband, T.C., of Troutsville, Dale B. Ragland and her husband, Gene, "Frog", of Buckingham, Joan B. Staton and her husband, Garland, of Dillwyn, and Kelly W. Branch Jr. "Bucky" of Charlottesville; a brother, Kenneth W. Branch and his wife, Becky, of Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Cal Beasley, of Charlottesville, Kelly Beasley, of Troutville, Leslie Ruth Ragland Morris and her husband, Brandon, of Buckingham; Brian Staton of Buckingham and Lindsay Staton of Charlottesville; and one great-granddaugther, Morgan Gray Morris.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010, Mulberry Grove Baptist Church with interment at the Buckingham Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Dunkum Funeral Home in Dillwyn and at all times at the family home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mulberry Grove Baptist Church or the Buckingham County Rescue Squad.

Another Saint of God has passed on. There are too few Christians like Ruth who lived her life for others. Rejoice that you will be united with her again and that she is free from pain and sickness. You are all in our hearts and prayers.
