Kunc Lundh

Teresa Joyce Kunc Lundh of Lake Monticello passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2010, after a courageous fight with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her beloved, "Swede" husband, Bo.

She is survived by her brother, Michael of Richmond, Virginia, and his wife, Patty, and their three children, Jennifer, Daniel, and Beth, "Aunt TT" was their second mother.

Teresa was born on August 10, 1955, in Raleigh, North Carolina. After graduating from North Carolina State, she received her Masters in Psychology from East Carolina University. She was a school psychologist in Harnett County, North Carolina, Long Beach, California, and for the past 10 years with Hollymead and Sutherland Schools in Albemarle County. She loved her animals, working in the yard, a good glass of wine, and her "Wolfpack." Most importantly, she loved the 20 years she spent with the love of her life, Bo!! Teresa's spirit of unconditional and selfless love will leave a legacy for all that were blessed to know her.

A celebration of life will be held from 2 until 5 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Pavillion at Forest Lakes Swim and Tennis Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bo's Pier Group, 265 Turkeysag Trail, Suite 102, #130, Palmyra, VA 22936.

I know that this message is a little out of the ordinary because you do not know me. I was in graduate school with Teresa at ECU (1978-80). I got on the computer this afternoon to search for her since we have not been in touch since then, and found this very sad news. I could not believe it. She has been on my mind for about a year and very much on my mind for about a month. Now I know why. How I wish I had acted on my impulse to contact her earlier, but I was waiting for "school to get out." We will reconnect in heaven--of that I am certain! She was a lovely lady even in her early 20's--always hard-working, dependable, kind, and generous. I know that she must have become a wonderful school psychologist. I guess she never had children of her own, but am happy to learn that she was Aunt TT to neices and nephews. I am sorry for your loss and, from a distance, feel sad because she was the kind of person who will always be a "forever friend" even though we lost touch for all of those years. Love to all of your family, Angela Rea

Teresa, you were such a model of courage and strength for all of us. We will miss you terribly, but you live on in all of us in the work we do with our students at school. Wish Sweden was in the World Cup this year, always root for them :( Warren

I will miss you Teresa and I feel so blessed to have known you and had you as a friend. You always had such understanding in your soul and you kept your head when others around you were losing theirs. I will keep you in my heart and hold the memory of you for the rest of my life. Teresa, I know you are with Bo in heaven now and that you are free. I know my tears are for us who will miss you forever.

My dear friend since Sanderson High School, Teresa has been there for the highlights of my life and more recently, through the deepest valleys. Always there, always caring deeply. It's difficult for me to imagine my life without her being a phone call, or email away. Thanks for coming to visit in November -- I love & miss you always! Sara JS Johnson (Raleigh, NC)

One of my favorite memories of Teresa: I was bringing her and Bo's mail to them after collecting it for them while they went away for a weekend. The curtains were open to their living room and Teresa was drinking a glass of wine and dancing around the room. Bo was sitting there laughing at her. I knocked on the door and Teresa came to the door and they both said, 'Well, COME ON IN and join the party!!!" They were so happy and so in love. I know she's back in his arms again.
