Charlene, we can only imagine how wonderful heaven with our Lord and Savior will be but Tommy has been with him for several years now while we are left to serve here. Tommy was a good servant while he was here with us so his crowns are many. We miss his music and his wonderful smile.

I met Tommy in '69 at Midwestern State University. Over the next 2 years I took four of his classes and learned so much about the Bible. Tommy was an inspiration to me and lots of other young folks. It was sad news to hear of his passing but the memories will live on through all who knew him.

God Bless and Comfort You

I met Tommy in my freshman year at Midwestern State Univ. and ended up taking 13 hours of bible course through him. He inspired me to preach and was a great influence on many of the students at the bible chair. We are all saddened at the loss but we rejoice at what he has gained.

Tommy was very important to me during my days at Midwestern State University. I learned so much from him and was inspired to seek Christ in a way deeper that I could have done without him. He has always been a treasure to me even though we have lost contact. I was actually thinking about him yesterday. I believe we will meet again.

Tommy was a big part of my life during the college years at Midwestern University in Wichita Falls. My sympathies go out to his family and friends and to the church I know he served well.

Aunt Charlie, so so sorry Diane and I couldn't be there with you today. Tommy was so special to us and our girls. They listened to that "Forever Young" tape that he made years ago until they wore it out. We are shocked still today, but want you to know that we love you very much and you are in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless!

Charline, we sympathize with you and the church family there in VA as we have all lost Tommy from this earthly vale. I like to think that his voice is only blending with other singers who have gone on to a realm where no tiredness, sore throat, or "down days" will ever impede the songs! I pray we can all join him there. Maybe Tom will save us a spot nearby. What a singing it will be!

Tommy, my brother in Christ. I pictured him yesterday, Easter Sunday, sitting at table with the Lamb, as I also sat at that same table. I think I understood communion deeper than ever before. I cannot think of him as "dead". And, of course, he is not. He was more alive than anyone I think I have ever known. He will be missed in my life, but always a part of it. Come Lord, Jesus...

Dear Charlie,
Teresa and I cannot imagine the grief you must be suffering at the loss of Tommy. Although our get-togethers have been few in recent years, I have such fond memories; such as the time he entertained us all at my 50th birthday celebration.

I am thankful I had the opportunity to meet and know him. The two of you, although geographicly distant, continued to bless us with faithful communications on birthdays and holidays.

Although I can't be there with you, I send my prayers and a giant mental hug to you now.

Much Love,
Jerry McKinney

Charline, We are so sorry to hear of Tommy's passing. I always looked forward in coming home and visiting Fairview to hear Tommy preach. His messages were such an inspiration to me. It was a special honor having him be there for our family during the loss of our mother. He will truly be missed by me and my family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Charlene, so sorry to learn of Tommy's death. I will never forget all the times we met at Beulah's in Madison, visiting with everyone and having dinner. My children always looked forward to the fall festival at Fairview as did Myrle and I and the wonderful apple butter. We both have many wonderful memories of our great husbands. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I am so sorry to hear of Tommy's passing. He was an inspiration to me as an 18 year old freshman at the Midwestern University Bible Chair. I attended his classes and many devotionals he held. The retreats we took were wonderful. Under his direction I made lifelong friends that I have held in my heart since 1968. I am sorry that I lost touch with Tommy. He was a special brother in Christ and He had a big impact on many.

I feel a profound and personal loss since learning of Tommy's passing. I am pleased to have been one of his students - and later a colleague - at the Bible Chair in Wichita Falls, TX many years ago. Over time Tommy and I had lost touch with each other. Had the opportunity presented itself I know we would have instantly reconnected! Alas, I feel deep regret over that not having happened. My love to Tommy's family - and to his greater family of Faith in Madison County, VA.

Amen
