Treva Jent Obituary

Published by Daily Progress on Dec. 29, 2009.
Treva Ann Jent

Treva Ann Jent passed away early on Friday, December 25, 2009, at her residence in Buckingham County, Virginia.

Services began at Dunkum Funeral Home in Dillwyn, Virginia, on Monday, December 28, 2009, where friends and family may visit from 6 until 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Salem United Methodist Church in Buckingham, where the Reverend Billy Swan will be officiating. Burial will follow at the adjacent Salem Cemetery.

Treva was born on December 16, 1942, in Gary, Indiana, a daughter of Owen Harris and Ethyl Price Harris. She spent most of her early years residing in St. Bernice, Indiana, where she was Valedictorian of her graduating class. Most of her work career was spent as an executive secretary for law firms, but most importantly, she spent her years as a loving wife, mother and friend.

Surviving are her husband, Dallas Jent, who gave her love, life and happiness for 42 years; daughter, Rebecca Ann Wood and her husband, Lacy, of Arvonia; sons, Larry and Marion Jent, also of Buckingham County; a granddaughter and name sake, Treva Rose Wood; a grandson, Cameron Jent; son, Brian Jent of Texas, David Jent of Missouri and Bradley Jent of Arkansas; brothers, Kent Harris and his wife, Judy, of Terre Haute, Indiana and Dean Harris and his wife, Sally, Clinton, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Treva was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church, and was awarded a pin of honor from the church in recognition of over 21 years for her work as a member of the United Methodist Women's Group. She was also a very active member in all the communities where she resided thru her life. Volunteering in nursing homes, helping those in need, and always making someone's day brighter.

Mrs. Jent will be very much missed by all who loved her, but she is now in a wonderful place with the Lord, where she shall not have to suffer with pain any longer. She wished for two new feet for Christmas. Not only did she get her wish, but she received a pair of wings as well.

Your light will alwasy shine; Near or far. Thank you to the Lord for never having your light blown out. Shines so brightly, we can see it from here on earth when we look to the sky....even on a cloudy night.

Dear Becky,

Happy Birthday to Treva, as she spends her first birthday in heaven with Jesus. She is walking on the street of gold with her new heavenly feet...and might I add, Jesus probably has given her a beautiful pair of white fuzzy slippers to wear! She rests safely in the arms of her Savior. What a blessing it is to know that our Beloved Ones are with the Lord. She continues to love you from heaven and awaits at the gate for the day when we will all reunite together...."and so shall we ever be with the Lord.".
With love,
Darlene Parks
