Vincent Wayne Dean

Vincent Wayne Dean, 69, of Stanardsville, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

He was born on July 26, 1940, in Charlottesville, the son of the late Glenvil G. Dean and Bessie Long Dean Weeks. Wayne was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Elmer R. Baugher; two brothers-in-law, Ray Baugher and Clifton "Bootsie" Butler; three aunts, Sally Long, Nell Long and Delilah Knicely; two uncles, James Long and John Long.

He is survived by his wife, Faye B. Dean; his son, Shannon; one brother, Frederick N. Dean; mother-in-law, Lorene M. Baugher; and a sister-in-law, Shirley B. Butler.

Wayne is also survived by his nieces, Tracy Dean, Pam Buttner and her husband, Troy, Lenis Gibson and her husband, Craig, Dana Garrard and her husband, Knight, Audra Taylor and her husband, Chris.

Wayne was a member of Swift Run Baptist Church and a veteran of the Virginia National Guard.

He was a self-employed electrician and later owned a hauling business. Wayne was a skilled tradesman and taught many people through the years.

To any and all who knew him, Wayne was admired, respected and loved. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the Ryan Funeral Home with the Reverend Mark Holder officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanardsville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at the Ryan Funeral Home.

The family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Swift Run Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 426, Stanardsville, VA 22973.

Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Faye,
I am so, so sorry to learn of Wayne's death. He was indirectly related to me, as my Aunt Arbutus was married to John Long, who was Bessie Long's brother I believe. Anyway, I am terribly sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
