Virginia Douglas Maupin

Virginia Douglas Maupin, 75, of Charlottesville, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Virginia was born on November 1, 1935, in Greenville, Virginia, a daughter of the late William Landis and Janie Camden Landis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Allen Maupin.

Virginia is survived by three daughters, Corene Virginia Naylor of Albemarle County, June Juanita Ferguson of Stafford and Vinnie Marie Vawter of Louisa; two sons-in-law, David Naylor and Harold Vawter; one brother, Thomas Landis of Baltimore, Maryland; one sister, Annie Shifflett of Stanardsville; five grandchildren, Chris Naylor, Eric Naylor, Taylor Ferguson, Jason Vawter and Tiffany Vawter; two great-grandchildren, Evan and E.J. Naylor; and many other family members and friends.

Virginia loved flowers, gardening and was passionate about her pets. Her family was very important to her. She will be greatly missed.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association (americanheart.org).

Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dearest Vinnie and family,
I am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. If she was as sweet as you, dear Vinnie, I know that she is now an Angel. Please take comfort in your memories and knowing that you are in our prayers.
