Virginia Sue Dodson Pullen

Virginia Sue Dodson Pullen, 76, of Stanardsville, formerly of Madison, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Evergreen Nursing Home. She was surrounded by her loving family and the many friends she made at Evergreen who took such wonderful care of her for two years.

She was born January 30, 1933, in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late Washington Irvin Dodson and Ethel Fincham Dodson. She was also preceded in death by sister, Mary Lou Dodson; and a brother, George Dodson.

Mrs. Pullen is survived by her children, Debbie Nicholson and her husband, Danny, of Madison, Timmy Pullen and his wife, Suzie, of Quebec, Canada, and Larry Pullen of Richmond; a brother, Jackie Dodson and his wife, Hannah, of Brandy Station; a sister, Eleanor Shore and her husband, Ray, of Charlottesville; a sister-in-law, Doreen Dodson of Ashburn; and four grandchildren, Jamie Ryan, Lindsey Erin Nicholson, Timmy and Kristina Pullen.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison conducted by Danny Nicholson and Pastor Josh Shifflett with a private interment at Madison Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the funeral home.
