Wilford Coates Obituary
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (nee Schepers) Coates; his parents, John R. Sr. and Louise T. Coates; and his brothers, Harold J. and James A. Coates.
He is survived by his son, Scott; his sister, Virginia C. Griswold; and his brother, John B. Coates Jr.
Bill was a charter member of the 82nd Airborne Division Association, Virginia State Chapter and was an United States Army veteran.
A graveside funeral service will be held at a later date in the spring at the Thompson family cemetery in Piney River, Nelson County.
Dunkum Funeral Home of Dillwyn is in charge of arrangements.
