William Branch Obituary
William "Jimmy" "Groundhog" Branch, 62, of James River Road, Shipman, died Monday, November 30, 2009, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.
He was born June 11, 1947, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late William D. Branch and Helen Tuman Branch.
He was a welder by trade and formerly employed by Quality Welding in Charlottesville.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina F. Thompson and her husband, David, of Shipman; his son, Timothy Richard "Timmy" Branch and his wife, Michelle, of Reidsville, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Erika L. Allen, Salena D. Thompson, Timothy R. "T.J." Branch Jr., Clayton D. Thompson, Harley G. Branch, and Mason Z. Thompson; as well as two special nephews, Steven Branch of Charlottesville and David Branch of Greene County.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009, at Mackivee Chapel Cemetery in Fairfield.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at the funeral home.
