Wayne E. Pickett, 79, of Boonton, NJ., passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, April 02, 2014.
Wayne was a lifelong resident of Boonton who was an Exempt Member of the Boonton Volunteer Fire Department, Maxfield Hook & Ladder Company. He was also a member of the Boonton Elks for many years. Mr. Pickett was a bus driver for 22 years with Lakeland Bus Lines, Dover, NJ., retiring in 1996. Surviving are his beloved wife, Barbara "Bobbie" (Reilly); devoted children, Darla Bevacqua (Jim), Dawn Stone (Neil), Barbara Dow (Vinnie Sabina), Michael Peer (Heather), Donna Ferguson (Tim) and Glen Pickett (Michele); a loving sister Marilyn Carey and sister in law Carol Pickett; dear nephew of Bob and Arline Pickett; cherished grandchildren, Amanda and John Bevacqua, Alicia and Rebecca Stone, George Peer, Samantha Ferguson, Justin, Mackenzie and Zoe Pickett. He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Alice Pickett and brother Gary Pickett.
Services were private in care of the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton. To extend condolences or share a memory, please visit codeymackeyfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, Boonton, NJ., would be appreciated.
