Bruno Di Paolo, 93, a proud American and World War II Veteran, Cannon Company, 273rd Regiment, 69th Infantry Division passed away on November 9, 2013 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, New Jersey. A loving Husband, Father & Grandfather. Born in Cansano, in Abruzzo, Italy on December 16, 1919, Bruno emigrated to America in 1936.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Rose (Mercandetti) in 1978; his parents, Nunzio and Maria; his sisters, Angela Di Giacomo and Laura Di Paolo and brother-in-law, Frank Mercandetti, and his stepson, Henry Handwerker. Bruno is survived by his wife, Theresa (Pettalia) his daughter, Maricatherine Fairfield and husband Bob and his five grandchildren, Christopher, Carina, Michael, Maria and Catherine. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Helen MacNamara, Elizabeth Handwerker, Jean Marie DuHamel, Theresa Steele and husband, Roger, and Anthony Handwerker and wife, Lisa; his step grandchildren, Michael, Renata, Joshua, Melissa, David, Tom, Ian, Cassie, Samuel, Henry, Bart, Jason, Kori and Anthony. He is also survived by six great grandchildren, his brother, Fred Di Paolo and wife, Fannie, his sister, Velia Cintorrino and husband Carmelo, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Bruno loved the opera and was a former Board member of the Opera at Florham. He served in many capacities on the Board. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Morristown, NJ on Thursday at 10:00AM. Entombment is at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown.
