Michael T. Gaciala
Michael T. Gaciala of Denville New Jersey, succumbed to his illness at the Veterans Hospital in Basking Ridge, NJ, on May 30th, 2013. Michael was born on November 4th, 1940 in Staten Island, New York to the parents of Michael and Frances Gaciala.
Both of his parents, and his younger brother, Robert, preceded him in death. Michael attended Morris Hills High School in Rockaway, New Jersey. Michael served in the United States Navy
from 1951 to 1964, where he learned his trade as an electrician. He also served in the United State Merchant Marine from 1965 till 2008, with a small break in service, where he continued his trade as an electrician. During this period Michael owned his owned two businesses called Tri-County Electric and Cheapie Electric in Denville, New Jersey from 1972 to 2013.
Michael had many hobbies; he was a private pilot, a hunter, a coin maker and was an amazing wine maker. Michael built his own airplane, a Lance Air in 1989, and that plane is still flying today. He also enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. He loved fishing and spending time at the beach; especially with his grandchildren. Michael was well known by his family and friends as the man who could fix anything.
He is survived by his wife, Carol G. Cole. They were married for 46 years after getting married on September 24th, 1966 in Northern Ireland. He is survived by his two children; Claudine and Tyrone and two grandchildren; Taylor (8) and Connor (6) with a host of loving relatives and friends.
Michael donated his body to science which was his last selfless act. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. His family is holding a celebration of his life on Sunday, August 25th. It will be held at Rock Ridge Club House in Denville, NJ on August 25 at 3 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
