Nathaniel Blackman passed away on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at JDT Rehabilitation Villa in Lincoln Park. He was 71. Nathaniel was born in Norlina, NC. He lived in Morristown before moving to Dover in 1963. He was a tractor trailer driver for the American Stone Mix Co. in Kenvil for over 17 years before retiring in 2005. Nathaniel also served the Town of Dover as a Special Police Officer
for a number of years. Nathaniel was a member of the Union Baptist Church, Morristown where he was known as the dancing usher.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn D. (nee-Jones); his son, Richard N. and his wife, Kristeen; his step-son, Tyrone Parker; his daughters, Marilyn Blackman Garrett and Diane M. Johnson and her husband, Charles; his 4 brothers; his 2 sisters; 12 grandchildren and his 7 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 11:00am on Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Union Baptist Church, 89 Spring St., Morristown, NJ 07960. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 5-8 pm and on Friday morning from 10-11 am at the church.
