Patricia Watson Shaw died on October 24, 2013 in Boonton, N.J. A resident of Victoria Mews, she was 86 years. The daughter of Harold G. Watson and Dorothy Emmerson Watson, she spent her early years in Springfield, Ill. while her grandfather, Louis Lincoln Emmerson, served as Governor of Illinois. She attended Walnut Hill School in Natick, Massachusetts and Northwestern University in Chicago. After World War II, she married John Livingston Werner and had two children, John and Hank. In 1956, she married Samuel Leslie Shaw and gave birth to twins, Gregory and Leslie. She and her husband Sam were married for more than 50 years. They loved sailing in the Bahamas. Pat also had a keen interest in helping disadvantaged children. She moved to Boonton in 2010.

She is survived by her sons Hank Shaw of Rochester, N.Y. and Greg Shaw of Chicago Illinois; her daughter Leslie Shaw of Boonton, N.J.; her seven grandchildren: Danielle Shaw, Matthew Shaw, Megan Shaw, Katherine Doppelt, Alison Doppelt, Elizabeth Doppelt, and Alexander Kasper-Shaw; and a great-grand-daughter, Lucy Shaw. Her husband Sam and son John preceded her in death.
