Dad,
I miss your smiling face and great greetings when I came home from Boston, "Hello sweets, how you doing?" It made coming home all worth it. Every time I sadly had to leave, I left with an "I love you" from you.
I'll miss our talks after every big Sox game or trade or play. I'll still talk to you about them.
I know how hard it has been for you and take comfort in the fact that you are standing strong in Heaven.
I love you Dad. I hold you in my heart.

Some of my happiest childhood memories are at the Carroll house in Stamford. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll had such a warm and welcoming home. I remember my dad bringing Sparky to play with Zephyr while he talked with Mr. and Mrs. Carroll and I played with Sarah. Dad was a Mets fan and Mr. Carroll may have rooted for the Red Sox, but they both loved the underdog and, of course, their dogs. It's beautiful to see that your family is as loving and strong now, only bigger. What a great legacy of love and leadership he left. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I send love from the Keaneys to dear Mrs. Carroll, Sarah, Mary, Jim, John, and all who loved Mr. Carroll. His love is forever. May you find comfort in each other and in his everlasting lessons and love.

One of my fondest memories in my life is the day I spent with Sarah, Mrs. Carroll and Mr. Carroll! We spent the entire day walking around Boston quoting lines from "Waking Ned Devine" and of course a Red Sox Game. The memory of your smile will always make me happy.
