Born Nov. 16, 1951, in Summit, N.J., and raised in Whippany, N.J., Ed was the son of Edward J. Galvin Jr. and Avril Mai Lyons Galvin. Ed earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science-Human Ecology from Ramapo College of New Jersey.
