I met Lee and Alvin more than 20 years ago on a bus trip to, if I remember correctly, Nova Scotia. I was taking my first "big-girl" vacation/trip all alone. They kind of looked after me like a mom and dad. Then the following year I met them again on another trip to Vermont! After that, we kept in touch with yearly Christmas cards and short notes. When Alvin passed, Lee and I still kept in touch with cards and sometimes I would stop by for a visit, unexpectedly, and Lee would welcome me like family. She would talk about her family in NC and my visit would last for hours. I will always remember Lee (and Alvin) with great fondness and will never be able to travel again without thinking of them and wishing they were there with me. They were great travel buddies. My prayers are with you.
