Margaret "Peggy" May Tirrell of Morristown passed away at home on March 21, 2013. She was 87 years old. Born in Watertown, NY, Peggy lived in Hopatcong before moving to Morristown 38 years ago.
Peggy's 25-year career began at the Trust Company of Morris County, where she handled personnel functions. Her responsibilities grew along with the company, as she moved her way up the Corporate Ladder from Benefits Manager to Assistant Vice President at Chase Bank, formerly Horizon Bancorp, in Morristown. She retired in 1981. Peggy was a member of the Washington Valley Chapel in Morristown; where she was on the Governing Board. She was also a member of the Doll Artisan Guild.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Roger M. Tirrell, Sr.; and her devoted children, Stephen P. Webber of Cottonwood, AZ, Roger M. Tirrell, Jr. and his wife Sarah of Morris Plains, and Bonnie L. Tapper and her husband Douglas of Rockaway. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Max Webber and his wife Samantha, Jason P. Tirrell and his partner Kelly Dandrea, Wesley J. Tirrell, Blaire F. Tirrell-Smith and her husband Corey, Branden M. Tapper; as well as her great-grandchildren, Skylier A. Tirrell, Chloe J. Dandrea, Sienna J. Tirrell, and Elijah N. Tirrell.
A Memorial Service for Peggy will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 11:00am at Washington Valley Church, 57 Kadina Road, Morristown. Interment will be at a later date at Kateri Cemetery, Akwesasne, NY. Visiting will be on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains.
