AGE: 71 • Oak Ridge

Robert M. Emmetts, 71, of Oak Ridge, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, December 15, 2013. He was born in Paterson, NJ to Sarah (nee Baker) and Kenneth Emmetts. Mr. Emmetts graduated from East Side High School in Paterson and was employed as a supervisor for 41 years until his retirement with the Ford Motor Company in Edison, and Mahwah, NJ.

He married Eleanor Hinterliter in 1964 and continued to live in Paterson and later moving to Oak Ridge, NJ where together they raised their three children. Mr. Emmetts was a dedicated member and an active fireman for 39 years with the Jefferson Twp. Fire Dept. #. He was Chief in 1980 and again in 1989. He was also a parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church in Oak Ridge, NJ. Mr. Emmetts will best be remembered as an avid train collector as well as enjoying spending time with his grandchildren and attending Jefferson Township High School football games.

Mr. Emmetts was predeceased by his dear son Scott Emmetts in 2007. He is survived by his beloved wife Ellie of 50 years, his dear daughters Stacy Emmetts of Andover, NJ and Kristie Roccesano of Oak Ridge, NJ; his cherished grandchildren Jeffrey Meisner, and Joshua, Jordan and Jeremy Roccesano, all of Oak Ridge, NJ; his dear siblings Carol VanDen Henden of Fairlawn, NJ, Barbara Johnson and her husband Bob of Paterson, Ruth Zollo and her husband Vincent of Avenel, NJ, and Kenneth Emmetts and his wife Rita of Hopatcong, NJ., as well as several loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 4-8pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435 (GPS use 1 Post Place, Newfoundland, NJ). The funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 5635 Berkshire Valley Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438.

The interment will take place immediately following the funeral service at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery in Oak Ridge, NJ. Memorial donations may be made in his name to: Jefferson Twp. Fire Dept. #1, 162 Milton Road, PO Box, 487, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438. On line condolences and directions:
